Since 2011, Umbrella Events has been taking care of clients’ needs from beginning to end, offering a variety of services from private and themed parties to non-profit events. We’re big on travelling, so we don’t mind setting aside our West Coast vibes to come to you. We cover weddings and events to Greater Vancouver and beyond.

Umbrella Events is comprised of a quirky and imaginative team who live for those nitty-gritty details of party planning. Like the founder Cristie says herself, “you’d have to be a certain kind of crazy to want to do this as a profession.” Well maybe so, but we can’t wait to get started.

Jennifer Schafer is a wedding planner who describes her career as “her life”. She adores working with couples who are head over heels and she thrives on turning venue spaces into masterpieces. When you work with Jennifer, chances are, you’ll gain a friend from the experience. She sources “love” as her main inspiration, so when she’s planning your wedding, you can bet she’s going to put her heart into it.

Known for being your go-to problem solver with a smile, Jennifer believes that weddings should be as fun as they are beautiful. If you are looking for someone who will laugh with you during cake tastings, keep things light when the stress hits and celebrate your love story with genuine enthusiasm – she’s your girl!

Our very own Jersey Girl! Cindy has a vibrant style often highlighted by a pop of color in her hair and thrives on meeting new people, traveling, and exploring new places. Driven by a deep love for bagels, romance, and creativity, you might find her rewatching Pride and Prejudice on a rainy day (and there are plenty of those around here).

From elegant tea ceremonies to lively sangeets and events big and small, Cindy loves celebrating the rich tapestry of diverse identities and experiences. With a fondness for confetti and a flair for turning visions into stunning realities, her goal is to create memories and connections that last a lifetime.

Ariel

Event Planner

Meet Ariel, our Okanagan planner! Ariel started wedding and event planning in 2018 with Umbrella Events Vancouver and has recently moved to the South Okanagan where she plans to bring her colourful personality and enthusiasm to the wedding and event industry. Ariel’s favourite part of planning is decor concept creation and seeing her clients smile when everything comes together! When she is not setting up or planning weddings and events she can be found enjoying the beauty of the Okanagen, traveling and spending quality time with her family.
